Every Canada Day monsters from each province and territory gather to celebrate the Canadian Monster Club Summer Picnic. They play Canadian games like log-rolling and swamp hockey, they get into a huge food fight and their disgusting habits lead to some very messy results!

Each friendly, fun-filled monster is based on real Canadian folklore, a First Nations legend or an actual historical sighting. There are several monsters that you may be familiar with such as Ogopogo and Sasquatch but others you will likely be introduced to for the first time.

Meet Mishepishu, an underwater panther based on ancient cave paintings from Quebec and Chenoo, an ice-giant legend of the Mi'kmaq of Nova Scotia, along with over a dozen other incredible Canadian monsters.

Eh! Eh! Eh! Ooh La La!
Monster Club of CA-NA-DA!
Some are BIG and some are small.
But we are monsters one and all! RAAAAAAAAAR!

There is a hidden frog in every picture and the book contains catchy chants, look-and-finds, and plenty of Canuck humour.

    Wonderfully Canadian

Posted by Marilyn S. on 15th Dec 2020

These books are wonderfully Canadian and absolutely fantastic! I began buying Troy's Christmas books for all our 9 Grandchildren when they were small. Then when they were 4 or 5 years old, bought the Canadian Monster Club, The Summer Picnic and give each child an additional book every year. They all LOVE their books, and look forward each year to receiving a new one! I do keep track of each book I have given to each child to be sure I don't duplicate! :)

    Lane Family Favourite!

Posted by Emilie Lane on 19th Nov 2019

There's something for every member of the family in this book. It's hilarious for both kids and adults, there's a search and songs! The kids constantly request it (we've had it for years!) And we've purchased copies for every kid we know.

    Nephew loved it

Posted by Brad on 23rd May 2018

Great way to get kids interested in CANADIAN mythology and culture. My nephew was engaged in the story and loved the monsters! This is a legit review. I recommend the book - good for teaching about Canadian geography too.
