'Twas the night before Christmas and all around the house, not a creature was stirring, except for a moose….
Readers of all ages will laugh out loud at all the Canadian references in this hilarious version of the night before Christmas.
There are children in long johns snug in their beds while visions of poutine dance in their heads. Santa replaces his reindeer with a team of beavers - Gretzky, Trudeau, Shania, Loonie, Bob, Doug, Suzuki and Toonie.
A musical version of The Night Before a Canadian Christmas has been recorded by K.A.S.P. and is available on A Moose in a Maple Tree: A Canadian Christmas Compilation along with many other hits by top Canadian artists. Click here for more details.

Glad there's a Canadian version of a classic Christmas story. The book includes a wide variety of canadiana: moose, beavers, poutine, hockey, CBC, Hudson's Bay Company, CPR, skidoo, Toonie, Shania, Gretzky, double, double, etc. Glad Tory Townsin (the author-originally from Australia no less) had the initiative to put his inspiration to print!

What a great way to preserve the memories of the two years my son spent in Canada. I had to purchase it because of the reference to Poutine.

It took a while to get the package delivered to Germany, but it was worth any minute. Reading it several times and looking up some of the unknown "Canadian specials" I now feel best prepared for Canada :-)
I am looking forward until my son is good enough in English to read it himself!

What can be better than beavers pulling Santa's sleigh? Possibly children who dream of poutine. This book is a keeper.

Such a cute book. Bought a copy last year for myself and I had to get another for my friend's kids in Texas. A great take on the classic Christmas story

It's is my favourite of the 3 books that I bought!! Could be a bit dated With the references of persons that young children may not be familiar with in years to come, but all in all I love this Canadian twist to an all time classic!!!

We gave this book to our corporate clients, and to our nieces and nephews. Everyone loved it. I got messages on Christmas Eve from family and friends telling us how much fun they were having reading it aloud. Most successful gift shopping this year!
